"Protect Our Animals" (Adobe Illustrator CS5/Constructivst Poster Design/History of Communication Graphics) - The objective for this design was to design a poster using the "Constructivist" design styles and motifs. Constructivism is a style or movement in which assorted mechanical objects are combined into abstract mobile structural forms. The movement originated in Russia in the 1920s and has influenced many aspects of modern architecture and design. In this design, I chose to create a poster regarding a cause for environmental preservation.

"Modern Art Styles Stiletto" (Adobe Illustrator CS5/Modern Art Styles/History of Communication Graphics) - The objective of this project was to select an object and incorporate it into three modern art styles including: Art Deco, Plakatstil, and Cubist. Art Deco is the predominant decorative art style of the 1920s and 1930s, characterized by precise and boldly delineated geometric shapes and strong colors, and used most notably in household objects and in architecture. Plakatstil was an early poster style of art that began in the early 1900s and originated out of Germany. The traits of this style of art are usually bold, straight font with flat colors. Cubism is an early 20th-century style and movement in art, especially painting, in which perspective with a single viewpoint was abandoned and use was made of simple geometric shapes, interlocking planes, and, later, collage.

"Art Nouveau Dance Company" (Adobe Illustrator CS5/Dance Company Post Card/Flyer/History of Communication Graphics) - The objective of this project was to design a post card, invitation, or announcement for a dance company using the Art Nouveau design style, motif, pattern background, and type. Art Nouveau is a style of decorative art, architecture, and design prominent in western Europe and the US from about 1890 until World War I and characterized by intricate linear designs and flowing curves based on natural forms.

I am very inspired by Mark Rothko's work!!!

"Pyramid" (Adobe Illustrator CS5/5 Sided Polyhedron Design/Typography) - In this project, the goal was to create a 5 sided typographic polyhedron (a pyramid) using only typography, to explore the use of typography on a 3-dimensional geometric surface, and to continue to explore typographic relationships, particularly in the areas of hierachy, emphasis, value, and space. No representational images were allowed. Each side had to consist of a certain part of my life regarding: quantitative data or factual information (my age, birthdate, etc.), words associated with my personality or behavior, words and or phrases associated with my childhood, words associated with my present day life, and words that speculate my future.
